Race Description

At the same time across the world; wheelchair users, walkers and runners go as far as they can in a feat of physical and mental endurance. Wings for Life World Run is a charity run, with 100% of all entry fees and donations going directly to the Wings for Life foundation that is working towards finding a cure for spinal cord injuries.

30 minutes after the starting gun is fired, the moving finishing line that is the ‘Catcher Car’ slowly speeds up and catches one participant after another until the winner is left. The 2021 event will be an App Run with a virtual Catcher Car, allowing people all over the country to take part in a safe and convenient way. The Wings for Life World Run App Run allows each participant to run anywhere and be accompanied by an exciting audio experience as the virtual Catcher Car slowly speeds up to them and finishes their race.

Since 2014, over 700,000 participants from 195 nations have taken part in Wings for Life World Run; completing 7 million kilometres and raising almost €30,000,000 for Wings for Life through entry fees and donations.

The app can be downloaded for free from the App Store or Google Play Store ahead of the event.
