Race Description

The Surrey Half Marathon has been the County’s largest half-marathon for the past 4 years, and according to a survey carried out last year, raised £0.4 million for charity in 2016. The half marathon sees the return of Macmillan Cancer Support as a national charity partner for 2017, alongside Harrison’s Fund as the local charity partner. The Surrey Half is proud to support and work with a number of other charities including Alzheimer’s Research UK, KSS Air Ambulance and Woking & Sam Beare Hospices.

In addition to the title Half Marathon event and Kids’ Race – which saw over 500 children take part in 2016 – a brand new 5km run has been added for 2017. Race Director Toby Jenkins says that the 5km “is a very achievable distance for beginners” who want to enjoy the Surrey Half experience, but who are not ready to complete 13.1 miles. He went on to say:
“The Surrey Half Marathon 2017 will be a bigger and better event for runners, spectators, volunteer, local businesses and spectators alike. Do join us.”
