11:30 am – Awards for Sprint and Olympic distance ARRIVE EARLY!!! WE CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH. THE MARINE DRIVE WILL CLOSE AT 6:00 AM WITH THE ONLY WAY IN VIA DORSETT/MARINE.
WE DON’T KNOW IF IT IS WETSUIT LEGAL YET. The water has to be 78 degrees or below and it is currently above that. But we have some cool evenings coming up! We will announce at the expo if we know, but if it’s close you may not know until race morning.
NO music on the bike or the run. You will be disqualified!
NO water stations on the bike, please be self-sufficient.
There will be water and ice on the run course.
Our awesome sponsor, Big Shark Bicycles will have a mechanic in transition for last minute needs.
Big Shark will also have a sag vehicle on the course just in case you have an issue that you cannot fix during the ride.
In your swag bag will be 4 specific items to be aware of:
WRIST BAND: There will be a wrist band with your race number. These must be worn in order to access transition on Sunday. If you misplace this band you will need to secure a new one prior to entering transition.
TIMING CHIP: You will receive your timing chip when you pick up your packet at the expo on Saturday. DO NOT FORGET THIS ON RACE MORNING. You will wear the timing chip on your left ankle with the chip portion facing out. This is how you will be timed. NO CHIP = NO TIME = NO RESULTS.
BIKE STICKER: place this on your bike, usually the seat post is the best place or the top tube.
HELMET STICKER: place this on the front of your helmet.
There will be no bike drop-off on Saturday!!!! Everything you need for your race will need to be brought with you on race morning. Please Plan accordingly!!!! Give yourself enough time!
Where and How to Rack Your Bike:
You will rack your bike according to your race number. Look for your number at the end of each rack. Bikes must be racked alternating direction preferably by the seat.
Parking:
There is a variety of parking around Creve Coeur Park. The closest and most advantageous parking is the grass field directly to the west of the Tremayne Shelter. This parking will be inaccessible after 6:00 am as Marine Drive will be closing, so any spectators that wish to park here must be on site before Marine Drive closes at 6:00 am.
Because we are using the highway for our bike course, we cannot delay the start of the race. To this end, we cannot stress enough the importance of arriving early.
There will be volunteers directing athletes and volunteers to specific parking areas. Please follow their directions for parking and don’t run them over :).
