 The Raid 6 Night involves some night navigation- you’ll need your head torch

Centre/Location/Event Area
The exact start/finish will be announced 1mth before the event. It will be within 40 minutes of Keswick, in the Northern Lakes. Open runable fells.(no more hints than that). Full colour, bagged map (approx size A3) of the area with the checkpoints overprinted will be supplied at the start line. There will be camping at the Start/ Finish on both the Friday and the Saturday Night.

The Challenge
The RAID 6 DAY, starts 12noon and finishes 5.50pm. The RAID 6 NIGHT starts at 6pm and finishes 12 midnight so involves 2-3hrs of night navigation. For the NIGHT event distant controls will close early and some of the controls close to the finish will open late to add a little extra to the navigation. Both have a score format so you can make it as hard or as easy as you like. You can finish either event early but don’t be late- there are stiff penalties and you’ll lose all your points if more than 20minutes late….. For those wanting the full day on the hill combine both events to make the Raid 12. If will be great MM training and the night navigation makes for an interesting extra challenge

The Start/Finish
Registration opens at 10am and closes 30minutes before your start time. Massed start at 12noon for The RAID 6 DAY and 6pm for the RAID 6 NIGHT. The courses 20mins after the finish time. PLEASE DO NOT START without (a) registering and (b) passing the start official and “dibbing” in the check timing box. Checkpoint closing times will be detailed on the control description sheets.

******The Golden Rule – if you are unable to complete the event you MUST either (a) telephone the organisers or (b) report to the finish with your dibber to save a mountain rescue search party being sent out. A central telephone number will be detailed on your route description******
