Race Description

Entry is now open for the North Tyneside 10K Road Race 2012, which will take place on Easter Sunday – 8th April 2012.

One of the UK’s most scenic road races, the North Tyneside 10K starts at the Parks Sports Centre in North Shields and takes in North Shields Fish Quay, Tynemouth Priory & Castle and a long stretch of coastline before finishing at St Mary’s Lighthouse in Whitley Bay.

The entry form can be downloaded form the Council’s website: www.northtyneside.gov.uk or collected from local sports and leisure centres, community centres, libraries and tourist information centres.

The popular event is organised by North Tyneside Council in partnership with Start Fitness and North Shields Polytechnic. The event is sponsored by TyneMet College and Northern Pure who provide the drinking water throughout the race.

The entry fee for a UK Athletics Club member is £15 and a non-club member fee is £17. There is a range of prizes, both for individuals and teams. Each person taking part will receive a goody bag at the end and participants must be aged over 15 years.
