The Cave Rescue Organisation (CRO) Challenge 2013 will take place on the 11th May 2013 and there will be limited numbers for this event, so please book your place early.
There are 2 challenges that you can register for:
The Ingleborough Marathon – you can run it or walk it, 26 miles
The Clapham Circuit which will be 12 miles, again you can run it or walk it
Both of these routes will take you along footpaths and tracks seldom used, yet they take in some of the most attractive areas of the Ribble Valley.
The actual routes will be provided at a later date but both routes will start and finish at Clapham. The routes will both go up Long Lane from Clapham towards Ingleborough. The Clapham Circuit will then veer off to Silber Nick and then go back to Clapham via Wharfe and Austwick.
The Ingleborough Marathon will track to the summit of Ingleborough, down towards the Hill Inn and then the route will be off the official footpath and on land that the CRO have been given special permission for access only for the 11th May to Selside. From Selside the route will cross the valley and follow a section of the Ribble Way to Horton-in Ribblesdale, then back to Sulber Nick where it will take the same route back to Clapham as the Clapham Circuit.
Everyone will receive a medal and a certificate with the time that it took them to complete the event.
We are asking each challenger to raise, either by sponsorship or a personal donation:
At least £25 per person for the Ingleborough Marathon or
At least £10 per person for the “Clapham Circuit”
If you want to raise money for another charity you are welcome to do this, all we ask is the above entrance fees.
You can enter as an individual, a family, a group or even use it as a corporate event for your work. This is a fund raising event for the CRO and from the feedback we have received from all the previous events we have organised, everyone has enjoyed the event and have said they will do it again. Thanks for your support!
