Race Day Information
Registration will open 1 hour before the race starts at 7am with transition opening at 7.15am; these will all be sign-posted from the main reception of the Leisure Centre.

Carterton leisure centre has all the facilities needed to run the event, parking will be both at the centre and at Carterton Pavilion situated 500m meters away. Changing rooms will be available to use as well as separate toilets. Food will also be available on the day and sold from the field near the transition area.

Directions – the centre is situated just off the A40. For detailed maps and directions please look at the ‘how to find us page’ above.

Please allow yourself plenty of time to get to the event and make sure everything is in place when you would like it to be.

Swim
The swim will be 400m based in the 6 lane pool at the Leisure Centre and will go in four waves roughly every 15 minutes, with 4 swimmers in each lane starting at 10 second intervals. Each wave and lane will be determined from the estimated swim time on the entry form, so please make these as accurate as possible. During the swim there will be no diving or tumble turns for safety reasons, everyone must also wear a swimming hat which will be provided if needed.

Bike
The bike course is a two lap route that goes out towards Witney and back to Carterton via Brize Norton, Curbridge and Minster Lovell. No drafting will be allowed anywhere during the cycle part of the race. Please make sure there is at least a 5 meter gap between each competitor. Before the end of the first lap you take a left at a roundabout and left again shortly after to rejoin the main part of the lap. The course is fast and flat which makes it ideal for any first-timer. Please make sure you obey the Highway Code at all times, if you do have to stop at the one set of traffic lights we will write down your race number and credit you back the time at the end. Please click on the bike route map download to view the route.

Run
The run is a one lap course, repeated, on paths and very quiet roads. There will be a drinks station at the turn around point to provide refreshment if needed. The course goes along a road to the side of the Leisure Centre and then follows a quiet road around the back of Carterton to the football club where the turn around point is situated. The run is a nice flat course which should be great for competitors of all abilities. Please click on the run route map download to view the route.

We wish you all the best for the race and hope you have an enjoyable time!

Well done to all who were involved in the organisation of this event. It was well done and the good weather even put in a show. I can thoroughly recommend this event to anyone. A good mix of abilities, everyone was really chatty and friendly, a really inclusive local event that should be on anyones list especially as a first tri as it’s a bargain. I’ll be there next year if I’m still racing.
    Well done.
