Race Description
After the huge success and sell out of the 21st Brighton Half Marathon in February this year, the 2012 race was launched in March and registration is open with places going fast. The 2012 Brighton Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 19th February, with an increased number of up to 12,000 runner’s places for the Olympic year.
The Brighton Half Marathon is one of the longest established and most popular seafront road race events in the UK, the first major half marathon of the new year and perfectly suited as a warm up for all the spring marathons. The new flatter, faster route from 2011, mostly along the seafront, takes in many of Brighton’s iconic sights including the Royal Pavilion, the bracing cliff tops past Brighton Marina, both Piers and of course Brighton’s colourful beach huts. With full road closures in place, the route received a lot of praise and positive feedback from runners with lots of new PBs achieved in 2011.
Entry costs £26 for affiliated runners and £29 for non-affiliated runners. Youth Races will be taking place again too and, new for 2012, the Corporate Challenge has been announced.
The Brighton Half Marathon is organised by and the main fundraiser for Brighton based charity The Sussex Beacon, a unique centre providing innovative services to meet the changing needs of people living with HIV.

Thank you for potentially wanting to fund raise for Passing It On. It would be great to have you in our fund raising team. Your fund raising target of 225 or more,would make a genuine and profound difference to the children we support in our 3 School/Orphanage initiatives in Ghana, The Gambia and Kenya. We presently have 18 charity places left for next year's Brighton half Marathon but they won't be around for long. We require a 25 pound deposit cheque from you to secure your race entry. This deposit also includes your HEROES RUN running top and fund raising pack. If you manage to raise 225 pounds or more we will then reimburse your 25
deposit cheque back to you.
