Race Description
The 100km del Sahara (13th Edition, Tunisia) is a 4-day endurance race set in the spectacular Tunisian Sahara in northern Africa. Covering 100 kilometers (62 miles), it is considered to be a great entry level endurance event and is a perfect stepping-stone to the more challenging races. Competitors will camp out each night in Berber tents in the stunning Sahara Desert. Backpacks are transported to each campsite and all meals are provided for by local and international staff. This race provides a great challenge in an incredible setting, and can give you a real taste of what makes multi-day running so popular.

By comparison Marathon des Sables in £3300 and only includes 2 nights hotel, flight and water, but worth it at twice the price…

Program flight included from Rome $2,520USD
Program flight NOT included $2,780USD
Includes:
Transfer by bus from Douz to Tozeur the 12th of March
Overnight, dinner and breakfast in hotel in Tozeur
Transfer by bus to the airport.
The participation fee includes:
Flight Tunisair (journey to and from) Rome/Djerba (only in the program with flight), transfers by bus and by 4×4 means, full board for the whole week, 2 nights in hotel and 4 nights in nomadic tents, medical assistence during the race, turistic assistance, insurance.
What is not included:
Drinks in hotel and in the stay in Ksar Ghilane, everything that is not mentioned in the previous heading.
The entrance includes:
Race number, hat, technical t-shirt, set of cutlery/glass, assistance service during the race using quads and 4×4 means, medical assistance with italian doctors, refreshment points and assistance means at the end of the race, awards medal and finisher t-shirt.

Thanks for that.
Its hard enough to organise race marshalls and medical staff in short races in the UK or Europe, so to do so in North Africa over 100KM will obviously be more expensive than simple flights and accommodation.
Being a biginner here at race calendar, I don’t know if that sort of price is regular. The price doesn’t say whether it includes flights. I can get a return to Tunisia for well under £200, which means I’d be paying approximately £1400 ($2200) for the race, transport and four nights camping? Seems a bit steep!
