Race Description
This event is credited with two qualifying points for the UTMB race. Quite different from last year’s race (actually 75% different), it starts with more than 38 km in the Forêt de Soignes, then a short interlude on the paveway near the Waterloo Lion, one of the famous landmarks of European History! In response to last year’s critics regarding the trail along the canals, we adapted this year’s route to avoid the canal and replace it with 20 woodsy country kilometers, between Forêt de Soignes and the Erasmus campus (58th km), going thru the Beersel Castle. Participants will run the 22 last kilometers crossing the major parks of Brussels, all of them linked with one another by the Green Belt (promenade verte) with two additional incursions first in Dilbeek and its superb main square, secondly in the Laerbeek woods. Arrival takes place in the first ball of the Atomium, this unique experience being exclusively reserved to the happy few 80 km individual runners!
