Race Description

Run10K at Tatton Park is part of the Cancer Research Run10K Autumn Race Series, which welcomes men as well as women.

Tatton Park is a beautiful National Trust estate of landscaped deer park with a mixture of terrain including gravel, grass and woodland track. You will set off through the woods before crossing fields to enter Beech Avenue, a shady woodland track. The course takes a gradual decline towards the 3.5k mark before steadily undulating past Tatton Mere and up to the deer park. There are several small hills before the home straight where you will pass The Choragic Monument.

This course provides a good mix of terrain in a gorgeous rural setting for runners of all abilities.

Please arrive an hour before the start of your Run 10k event. There will be a stretch and warm-up half an hour before your run.

Follow brown and white tourist signs to Tatton Park, enter via Mere Lodge or Rostherne Gate.

  • I agree that I finished in 35mins 51 seconds according to my watch but then I started at the front. The distance was a little short though… by about 0.5k according to my watch… but then the World Triathlon Championships 10k route in Budapest was 800m short too…

I finished in 54 minutes according to my watch and the DJ was saying it was 1 hr and 1 min. I had thought the difference was due to the fact I’d started timing when I crossed the start line (behind about 1500 other people) and I’d assumed the DJ was going by the official start time; I was confused that it was such a big difference though…it makes sense now!!

Beautiful location + nice weather + friendly people = Great race. It was the first 10k run that I’ve done. Really enjoyed training and the race, and I’m keen to do another one v soon. 🙂

Great day. DJ fab. The race was due to start at 10.30am, it started 10.35. When finishing the DJ announced the time over the finish line according to a 10.30 start. I did under an hr and therefore my watch made it 55min. Just so I have a realsitic time, could anyone else verify this?

I agree great day, great cause, however, I know this has been said before for previous years but the course is not 10K!, my gps put it at just under 6 miles. Why can’t they just measure it right?

      • That’s a fair margin if its accurate! Still, better a little short than a little long, I guess 😉

I do know that for championship races there are still only 2 accepted forms of measuring device allowed, in order to ensure absolute accuracy.

In this case, it could simply be that there isn’t a sensible way to add the additional distance on?
