Race Description

BEAT THE BURN
5K RUN/WALK & KIDS’ DASH

It is time to put your running shoes on, and your mind into having a day full of fun for the whole family. We would like to invite all runners, walkers, and family members of all ages to join us for the Port of Seattle Fire Department/Local 1257 Firefighters and the Northwest Burn Foundation’s Inaugural BEAT THE BURN 5K Run/ Walk & Kids’ Dash to help young burn survivors on Sunday, October 16, 2011. Starts and finishes on West Seattle’s Alki Beach Statue of Liberty Plaza, with the beautiful view of Elliot Bay and the communities surrounding downtown Seattle. Don’t miss this fun event and opportunity to get involved with local firefighters to help support burn prevention. Join the team and help us make a difference.

The 5K includes a fire siren start, a grab bag of sponsor goodies, and a hosted healthful snack table for participants. Also, we will have a beer garden and vendors with health-related, running and fire safety booths.

BEAT THE BURN 5K Run/ Walk & Kids’ Dash benefits Northwest Burn Foundation’s Summer camp for young burn survivors ages 7-17.
