On Saturday, Dec. 4, runners take to the streets of Orleans during the 8th annual Santa Stampede and Family Fun Run, featuring a Kids’ Run at 10 a.m. and a timed 5K at 10:30 a.m., both starting and ending at the Barley Neck Inn in East Orleans. Whether you’re a serious competitor or looking for some serious fun, it’s a total blast. There are prizes in various age categories, as well as awards for Best Costume given out during the after-party. Register in advance or on race day. Runners get a free long-sleeved T-shirt (while supplies last).
