Race Description

Sunday 10th July will see the picturesque and normally relaxed Princes Park & Promenade, in Southport, receive a vibrant wakeup call in the form of Galloway’s Society for the Blind’s first ever Colour Blast event! While participants are running, walking, skipping, hopping or dancing the 5k route, an army of volunteers will be taking aim and throwing powder paint at hundreds of runners, making the kilometres fly by!
Registration is £20 for adults and £10 for children (16 and under). Earlybird offers are available. Your registration fee includes a white t-shirt and a pack of powder paint for the colour explosion at the start of the race. Along with joining a community of likeminded people looking to raise their fitness you’ll be raising much needed funds to support the work of Galloway’s Society for the Blind.
Galloway’s are a local charity, enabling blind and partially sighted people to gain greater independence and minimise the effects of living with reduced vision. We operate across Sefton and Lancashire, with centres in Southport, Preston, Morecambe and Chorley. Galloway’s offer a range of services to support visually imapired people at any point during their sight loss journey. In addition to this we work with our local community to promote better eye health and prevent avoidable sight loss, whilst supporting local organisations by providing visual awareness training to create a better world for people living with sight loss.
It costs £1 million to deliver these services each year and without the support of the local community Galloway’s would be unable to offer support to over 7,000 people in Sefton and Lancashire facing the challenges of everyday with sight loss.
The Galloway’s Colour Blast promises to be an unmissable family event, so whether you sign up as an incentive to keep the healthy lifestyle going, a team building session or as part of your summer running programme, we can’t wait to see everyone taking part for such a great cause in such a colourful way!
Registration will open at 9am on the day and the race will start at 11am.
