Why was the car park closed? I am VERY disappointed that we did not get there in time to do this run.. we were stuck at Sunbury Cross roundabout.

I thought the course was horrible the ground was very uneven ( this give me ankle pain afterwards) and the course was hilly.

Hi Ian,

There WILL be First Aid, there WILL be water stations. There is no chip timing, and no prizes. When the events were originally submitted these details were unclear so they defaulted to “no” accidentally.

Thanks for your comment, however, as it means we have now been able to clarify this!

great to run for cancer research but disappointed with no water stations and a little prize would be nice. surely there will be first aid on hand? to be truthful i find it rather cheeky to charge so much without providing basic race conditions. that being said, i will be racing for such a good cause.

Hi, the maps are the same – the map is generated by the postcode (provided by Cancer Research originally) and (if you zoom out the map one level) you can see Lloyd Park below the marker (around 100 metres or so).

If there is a more appropriate post code we should use, please let me know.

couldnt help but notice the map for the afternoon race at LLoyd park is pointint to the wrong place. can you please copy what you have done for the morning one with this one. any problems, call me on 07825933920. The venue for both races is indeed Lloyd Park, but the map on the afternoon race is not pointing to the same place as the morning one. thanks,

Dawn,
I really think there are bigger problems in the world than people making a ‘BLOODY AWFUL NOISE’, aka ‘cheering on women who are running the charity fundraiser Race for Life’…and you’re definitely preaching to the wrong choir by posting your complaint on here. Try getting involved and you might see how its such a positive event?!
I’m proud to have run it with my friends and to have been one of the women making noise to spur others on.
See you next year for the 10K!

In response to Dawn: It’s always annoying when people bother to do something to raise money for their bereaved friends and family affected by cancer. If only more people were like you and refused to participate in such things and god forbid, have fun and be proud.
Me and my friends will definately think again before raising money for cancer research to avoid upsetting you with the massive disruption you had for a few hours one day a year. From 1.45 to 3 o clock – 1 hour and 15 minutes disruption I bet you thought it would never end, how did you cope? To think some residents actually came out to cheer us on – what is the world coming to.
I’m so glad you took even more time to disrupt your schedule to actually complain about it to the people who ran it and may have been proud of raising funds and running in memory of someone.

That noise is the sound of thousands of women raising tens of thousands of pounds for Cancer Research. The noise happens once a year for a couple of hours. Maybe you should run it next year or join your neighbours on the street cheering us on. Im shocked that you have the cheek to complain to be honest!
My 5 friends and i have trained for 2 months and together raised over £1000. We had a great day!!! Thanks Race for Life!!

Ran it 6 minutes faster than my best time! 30 minutes which surprised me! feel amazing and looking forward to 10km next!
great event, well organised and stress free, lovely setting and home within 5 minutes so bliss

I enjoyed the 10km run I always start last dressed in my clown outfit and I have ran it I think every year it has been on. great race well organised and covered by first aid and marshalls, I raised over £200 at the race and my total for charity up to now is over £126.000.00 which I have raised myself running all my races every where. keep up the good work, as I knmow it takes a lot of your time. see you next year and well done. your running marathonman tommy.

I want to enter the Canterbury race for life but there is no prefix for Mr under the title box. Is this a women only event?
