Race Description

On Sunday, 18th October, runners of every age and ability will gather at the start line… supporters will line the routes… and Bradford’s roads will be quiet in anticipation… as we sound the whistle on Bradford’s City Run 2009!

Our ‘Many Races in One’ event offers a route for everyone, from juniors to first-striders and elite runners. The course will resound with the sound of supporters, music and diverse entertainment throughout the day, encouraging our runners to go the distance. Whether you run for charity, fun, or the prize fund, you’ll be racing in an atmosphere pumped with energy.

Designed to take in Bradford’s city landmarks, the route is formed of two distinct 5-mile loops, starting and ending at Centenary Square. Roads will be closed to traffic, and the entire route is suitable for wheelchairs. Complete one section (the 5-mile route) or both (the complete 10-miler) – or enter the 10-mile (4xperson) team relay. Juniors are invited to join in the Junior Run at Lister Park – and Bradford schools will be competing for special prizes, too!

The day is organised by City of Bradford MDC and the Bradford Athletic Network. It’s part of the build-up to the 2010 Bradford City Marathon.
