Race Description

A weekend celebration of “everything running” centered on the superb, self-contained ashmei race village. This race village sits in a beautiful rural lakeside location, within 50 metres of the River Thames. At the heart of the race village is a luxury, weather-proof tensioned canopy tent. This magnificent structure has a capacity of 500 people.

Within this tent will be a fire pit, lounge seating, chill-out zone and a dining space. There will be nightly film screenings and a DJ mixing smooth grooves on Saturday night.

Gourmet street food trucks will be on site throughout the weekend, serving a wide variety of delicious, healthy food. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner menus will be available, as well as snacks throughout the day. A licensed bar will serve fresh smoothies, energy drinks alongside cocktails, wine, beer and soft drinks. Open-air and covered dining areas will be available.

The ashmei airshop phoenix will be open throughout the weekend, stocked with the full range of ashmei clothing for you to try on and buy, should you wish to.

The weekend’s key race is an epic 26.2 mile trail marathon through beautiful, unspoilt English countryside and villages, following the Thames Path and Ridgeway. In addition there are free of charge kids’ races and a nighttime 5k torch lit fun run.

ashmei 26.2 mile Thames Trail Marathon

– Following the Thames Pathway and the Ridgeway from Abingdon to Pangbourne. The Route is a picturesque trail run along the Thames riverside.
– Along the pathway support comes from the water from boaters, rowers, lockman and the extensive variety of wildlife. Please invite your own supporters too.
– The terrain is stable underfoot throughout, changing from gravel paths, to side street roads, to grassed banked mud trails; creating an enjoyable and safe route which is suitable for athletes of all levels.
– The elevation along the course is flat/medium, with one single significant but short climb and descent towards the finish.
– The scenery along the footpath; including locks, bridges, forestry and the river running along side providing constant encouragement along the distance.
– Food/drink/first aid stations at regular intervals on the course
– Fully marked and marshaled course
– Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places and goody bags for all participants.

ashmei Free 5K FUNight Run

– Torch lit 5k trail run within the Festival Site, running alongside the river, around the lake, through the park woodland finishing in the heart of the Race Village
– The route will be fully marshaled and marked with glow sticks and torches
– Head torches are recommended for all participants
