Race Description

Put on your PINK and celebrate, run or walk with us at the 22nd annual Susan G. Komen Puget Sound Race for the Cure® on June 7, 2015 at Seattle Center.

Race for the Cure® celebrates the strength and courage of breast cancer survivors while raising critical funds for the fight against breast cancer in the Puget Sound region. This year’s Race features an event for every member of the family.
• Women-only 5K run
• Co-ed 5K run
• Co-ed 5K walk
• One-mile walk
• Kids’ race
• Survivors’ parade
Stay after the Race for awards and surprise guests. Race for the Cure® benefits Komen Puget Sound, fighting breast cancer on all fronts. 75 percent of money raised here stays in the region funding screenings, awareness and treatment support. The remaining 25 percent funds research to better diagnose, treat and ultimately cure breast cancer. Washington State Department of Health—Komen Breast Cancer Screening & Diagnostic Program, lifesaving mammograms and diagnostic services to nearly 8,000 low-income women
Franciscan Foundation—Breast Cancer Navigation Program, screening, diagnostics and treatment for Asian, Pacific Islander, African-American, Hispanic, Native American and sexual minority women in Tacoma/Pierce County
South Puget Intertribal Planning Agency—Native Women’s Wellness Program, providing breast health outreach, education, screening and support to women in rural tribal communities
Cancer Lifeline—Patient Assistance & Treatment Support, helping low-income patients who are in treatment for breast cancer.
